THE COMPANY
LEVA-EU, based in Gent (B), is a European trade association for companies in the sector of light, electric vehicles (LEVs): electric (bi)cycles, e-scooters, self-balancing vehicles, electric moped and motorcycles, electric 3 and 4-wheeled vehicles, etc.
LEVA-EU currently has more than 70 members in and outside the EU. LEVA-EU assists these members with professional and in-depth advice on European and national legislation and rules, which are relevant for their company/products. LEVA-EU also works directly with European authorities for European legislation that is better suited for LEVs and for policies that encourage the use of LEVs as sustainable means of transport. LEVA-EU works with the European Commission, European Parliament, European Council as well as in the standardization institutes CEN, ISO and IEC.

FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
You will support the LEVA-EU manager in the following activities:
- monitoring all relevant European legislative initiatives, legislation and policy relevant for the LEV-sector
- support in answering questions from LEVA-EU members on European and national rules and legislation concerning their business/products
- membership administration
- writing briefings for the LEVA-EU members on European rules, legislation and policies relevant for their business
- writing briefings for LEVA-EU management on relevant initiatives, legislation and policy
- support in lobby work
- support in data collection
- support in the preparation of meetings
- participation in conferences and networking events
- support in LEVA-EU’s participation in trade shows
REQUIRED PROFILE
- Affinity with and interest in sustainable mobility, interest in and knowledge of light, electric vehicles is a must
- Excellent knowledge of the European institutions and European policy-making procedures
- Relevant Bachelor/Master degree
- Impeccable spoken and written English, other languages are a plus
- Excellent command of the Internet, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Immediately available
- Thorough and detailed
- Able to work independently
- Preferably living in Gent or in the vicinity of Gent
